Welsh Summer Cooler
A tasty and refreshing summer drink to cool you down on your Welsh adventures. To make your own Welsh Summer Cooler, you will need some Earl Grey Tea and our Steeltown Welsh Dry Gin. Steeltown Welsh Dry Gin is a contemporary everyday drinking gin with tastes of juniper, cassia bark and orris root on the palette.
First, brew the Earl Grey Tea and let it cool for an hour. Next pour 300ml cooled tea, 50ml Steeltown Welsh Dry Gin, and ice into a shaker. Give it a good shake until the outside is unbearably cold. Then strain it into a rock glass or highball glass. Add a couple of blocks of ice and top up with lemonade. Garnish with thin cucumber slices, a lemon wedge, 2 halved strawberries, and a sprig of mint.
We recommend you make a big batch of the Earl Grey Tea and keep the leftovers in the fridge to make a second round. Yes, these summer gin cocktails are just that good! So plan ahead 🙂
Grand Slam 05 because its World Gin Day and the first Welsh game.
World Gin Day and the first Welsh Euro 2021 games are a great reason to make a Spirit of Wales Grand Slam 05 cocktail. Because when we win, we plan to party like it is 2005. It was a historic grand slam year for Wales.
Mix the 10ml of Spirit of Wales limited edition Distillery Release Welsh Dry Gin to a flute or small rock glass. Use a citrus press to squeeze 10ml of freshly peeled orange juice and add it to the glass. Then add the juice of half a lemon and a teaspoon of sugar. Top up with chilled bubbly lemonade from Fever-Tree Mixers and tonic.

Forget minutes you can make this Gin cocktail in seconds. Simply pour 25ml of Spirit of Wales Dry Welsh gin, 25ml Vermouth and 25ml Campari into your favourite glass over a couple of blocks of ice. Aromatic Blue Heather – our favourite to try this World Gin Day
A new cocktail from the Spirit of Wales Distillery. Made with forged wild blueberries and heather tips to give it a honey-like sweetness. Using heather tips in our process means that we add no sugar to this delightfully fruity, bright pink gin.
To make yourself one of these fabulous gin cocktails, add 50ml Spirit of Wales Distillery Release Wild Forged Blueberry Gin to a glass of your choice. We recommend you give it a sniff to sense the aromas of blueberry, juniper, orris root and heather. If you are up to it, give your drink a small sip to taste the pure gin flavours. Next add a couple of ice blocks, and the garnish to the glass. Give it another smell, notice how the aromas have changed. Last, add your Fever-Tree Aromatic Tonic to your glass. Give it a gentle mix, raise your glass and say cheers to World Gin Day.

Spirit of Wales Distillery Gin Mule.
A spin on the Moscow Mule, which is traditionally made with our Steeltown Vodka. If you have not tried this variation with gin, you are missing out! Made with ginger beer or or ginger ale, for the most refreshing of gin cocktails. Also known as the gin-gin mule because of its gin and ginger ale. Steeltown is a range of practical spirits that focus on the taste inspired by the fruity florals and industry in Newport where the distillery is situated. We filled our Steeltown Welsh Dry Gin with sweet floral characteristics accompanied by flavour bursts of citrus and menthol spice.
Load a cocktail strainer with ice. Add 15ml of our simple syrup, a handful of mint and 50ml Steeltown Welsh Dry Gin. Give it a good shake for around thirty seconds. Strain the mixture into a small copper mug. Add some crushed ice and top up with Fever-Tree Ginger Beer. Garnish with a fresh sprig of mint and lime wedges. Iydched da to World Gin Day.
