This list will grow in the lead-up to Christmas so that you have a full list of lush cocktails to serve your guests all December and beyond. We have prepared and tested each of our cocktails in our distillery in Newport and made with our range of premium Welsh gins, vodkas, and rums.

Day 1: Nadolig Llawen / Merry Christmas Cocktail
Have a Nadolig Llawen / Merry Christmas cocktail this festive season. Made with our award-winning Steeltown Welsh Dry Gin, which contains delicate botanicals. Inspired by the florals of the Welsh coast.
Ingredients
- 50ml Spirit of Wales, Steeltown Welsh Dry Gin
- 25ml Campari
- 5ml Sugar
- 25ml Lemon juice
- Garnish: Lemon slice
Method
- Step One: Add blocks of ice to your shaker, then add the Steeltown Welsh Dry gin, Campari, and sugar.
- Step Two: Shake for 20-30 seconds until cold to the touch.
- Step Three: Fill your tumbler with crushed ice and then strain your drink into a glass and garnish with dried or fresh lemon.
Day 2: Angylion / Angels Festive Cocktail
You, the people of Wales inspire our Angel’s festive cocktail. Created with our Dragon’s Breath Spiced Welsh Rum, this is no ordinary angel, it’s spiced with Welsh flavour from Y Draig Gogh.
We hope you enjoy this light, yet spicy, festive drink as much as we do.
Ingredients
- 50ml of Dragon’s Breath Spiced Welsh Rum
- 25ml Sweet Vermouth
- 5ml Lime Juice
- 1 Fever-Tree Ginger Beer
- Garnish: Lime
Method
- Step One: Fill a tall glass with ice and pour your Dragon’s Breath Spiced Welsh Rum, then add your sweet Vermouth and lime to the glass.
- Step Two: Top up with Fever-Tree Ginger Beer, which provides a strong flavour to complement the Welsh rum perfectly.
- Step Three: Give it a short stir and garnish with a slice of dried lemon.
Day 3: Dymuniadau Gorau / Best Wishes Cocktail
The best wishes Christmas cocktail because we wish you the best Christmas possible this year. Made with our Dragon’s Breath Spiced Welsh Rum,
Perfect on its own or in a cocktail. This is one you have to try. Made in #Newport, South #Wales, and inspired by our Celtic Heritage and Red Dragon.
Ingredients
- 50 ml Dragon’s Breath Spiced Welsh Rum
- 25ml Cinnamon Syrup
- 2 Dashes of Peychaud Bitters
- Garnish: Cinnamon stick
Method
- Step One: You fill up your tumbler with a couple of blocks of ice.
- Step Two: Fill up the glass with all your Welsh spiced rum, cinnamon syrup, and Peychaud bitters. Then give it a stir for 20 or 30 seconds.
- Step Three: Depending on how strong you like your drink, you can top it with more ice, and you stir for another 20 or 30 seconds, and finish with a cinnamon stick garnish on top of the glass.
Day 4: Truyn Coch Rudolph / Rudolph’s Red Nose
This is one is for vodka lovers. Make yourself a red-nose reindeer cocktail to help get you in a festive mood. Made using our gold awarded Steeltown Welsh Vodka.

Ingredients
- 50ml Steeltown Welsh Vodka
- 25ml Triple Sec
- 25ml Cranberry Juice
- 5ml Lime Juice
- Garnish: Slice of dried Orange
Method
- Step One: Add your ice to a shaker, then add the Welsh Vodka, Triple Sec, cranberry, and lime juice.
- Step Two: Give it a good shake for 20 or 30 seconds.
- Step Three: Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a dried orange slice.
Day 5: Dyrnu Nadoligaida / Festive Rum Punch
Nothing like a rum punch to get the Christmas grinches in the mood for some festive fun. Try our Welsh twist on the popular rum punch, made with our new Steeltown Welsh White Rum.
Ingredients
- 50ml Steeltown Welsh White Rum
- 25ml Lillet Blanc
- 1x Fever-Tree Raspberry and rose soda
- Garnish: Dried Lime wedge
Method
- Step One: Fill a tall glass with some ice and pour over your white rum and Vermouth.
- Step Two: Slowly pour your Fever Tree Raspberry and Rose Soda over the mix.
- Step Three: Give it a gentle stir and garnish with a lime wedge
Day 6: Brathiad Rhew / Frostbite Cocktail
Baby, it’s cold outside. Warm-up with a delightful frostbite from the Spirit of Wales Distillery. Made with our new forged wild blueberry Welsh gin which is sweetened naturally with the macerated blueberries and heather tips.
A contemporary pink gin with wild blueberry with honey-like heather tips adding sweetness. Naturally sweet, Steeltown Welsh Blueberry Gin is inspired by the women of times passed who made jams and fed the miners and steelworkers who built Wales.
Ingredients
- 50ml Steeltown Welsh Blueberry Gin
- 25ml lemon juice
- 1x Fever-Tree White Grape Apricot Soda
- Garnish: Dried lemon slice
Method
- Step One: Fill your tumbler or glass with a block or two of ice and add some to your shaker along with the Steeltown Pink Welsh gin and lemon juice.
- Step Two: Give everything a good shake for about 20 to 30 seconds. Once ready, strain the contents into your glass.
- Step Three: Top up with your Fever-Tree mixer and finish off with a garnish of a dried lemon slice.
Day 7: Sac Sion Corn / Santa’s Sack Martini
As you know, Santa’s sack is full of treats for you to enjoy. This Christmas we have made a Santa’s Sack of our own, with the most important ingredient, the forged gin of Wales.
Steeltown Welsh Dry Gin is a delicate mix of botanicals for the perfect gin and tonic. Inspired by Miner’s Fortnight and Welsh summer holidays, and the flavours of lemonade, sorbet, and a stick of rock from a traditional seaside holiday. Along with the fresh Pembrokeshire Sea breeze and ornamental floral gardens.
Ingredients
- 50ml Steeltown Welsh Dry Gin
- 25ml Lillet Blanc
- 25 ml Lemon Juice
- 1x teaspoon Raspberry Jam
- Garnish: Slice of dried Lemon
Method
- Step One: Add your ice and the Steeltown Welsh gin, Lillet Blanc, lemon juice, and raspberry jam to a shaker.
- Step Two: Give all the ingredients a good 20 to 30-second shake before straining into your martini glass.
- Step Three: Garnish with a slide of dried lemon and enjoy. Iechyda
Day 8: Collins Nadoligaidd / Christmas Collins
A simple, but delicious cocktail to try this weekend. Perfect for after your Saturday shopping.

Ingredients
- 50ml Steeltown Forged Blueberry Welsh Gin
- 25ml Lemon Juice
- 10ml grenadine
- 1x Fever-Tree Soda Water
- Garnish: Dried Lemon slice
Method
- Step One: Fill a tall glass with ice and add the Steeltown blueberry gin, lemon juice, and grenadine.
- Step Two: Slowly pour your Fever-Tree Soda Water over the ice.
- Step Three: Garnish with a slice of dried lemon and enjoy.
Day 9: Clychau Jingle / Jingle Bells
Another classic for all the coffee lovers. Introducing our jingle bells cocktail, made with espresso, vodka, and cinnamon syrup.
Load the flavour and brighten up your palate, with our commemorative Steeltown Welsh Vodka. Made with Welsh water and filtered through Anthracite or Welsh coal from Ammanford in Carmarthenshire, South West Wales.
Ingredients
- 50ml Espresso
- 50ml Steeltown Welsh Vodka
- 25ml Cinnamon Syrup
- Garnish: 3 Coffee beans
Method
- Step One: Make yourself an espresso and allow it to cool
- Step Two: Add ice, the cooled espresso, Steeltown Welsh Vodka and Cinnamon syrup to a shaker.
- Step Three: Give it a good shake and then strain into a martini glass. Use 3 coffee beans to rest in the foam as a garnish.
Day 10: Tair Iar Cymraeg / Three Welsh Hens
A delicious Christmas cocktail to try just 5 days before the big celebration. Are you excited yet?
Made with our Luscious Rum of Wales, Steeltown Welsh White Rum, a molasses-based white rum with a rich velvety finish.
Ingredients
- 50ml Steeltown Welsh White Rum
- 25ml Lime Juice
- 25ml Triple Sec
- Garnish: Dried Orange slice
Method
- Step One: Fill your shaker with ice and pour all the liquid ingredients into the shaker.
- Step Two: Shake for 20 or 30 seconds and then strain into a coupe or martini glass.
- Step Three: Finish with a garnish of a dried orange slice.
Day 11: Tri Dyn Doeth / Three Wise Men Cocktail
We are not sure how wise these particular men are or why they are making cocktails, but we are all for it. Made with our Steeltown Welsh Vodka and fresh juice to delight your tastebuds with a pre-Christmas drink today.
Ingredients
- 25ml Steeltown Welsh Vodka
- 25ml Orange Juice
- 2 x dashes Angostura’s Bitters
- 25ml Elderflower syrup
- 25ml lime juice
- Garnish: thin lemon wedge or slice
- Remove the vodka to make the perfect virgin cocktail
Method
- Step One: Fill the shaker with ice and pour all your Welsh vodka, orange, and lime juice into a shaker, along with the bitters and elderflower syrup.
- Step Two: You then shake for around 20 to 30 seconds before straining into a coupe or martini glass.
- Step Three: Finish with a garnish of dried sliced lemon and enjoy!
Day 12: Eira’n Cwympo / Snow is falling Martini

- 25ml Steeltown Welsh White Rum
- 50ml Apple Juice
- 25ml Orgeat
- 1x Fever-Tree Soda Water
- Garnish: A slice of dried lemon
- Remove the rum to make the perfect virgin cocktail
Method
- Step One: Fill a gin glass with ice, add ice to your shaker, then add your white rum, and the apple Juice and orgeat to the shaker.
- Step Two: Give it a good shake for 20 or 30 seconds and then strain into an ice filled glass.
- Step Three: Top up with soda water and finish with a dried lemon slice garnish.
