It’s May, which means we are celebrating Gin A Day May with our Distillery Release Welsh Dry Gin. A contemporary Welsh gin with sweet characteristics. The first spirit in our collection, this Welsh Gin features bold tastes of juniper, cassia bark and orris root on the palette. Gin A Day May was started by Sarah Mill, blogger, gin judge and founder of Gin a Ding Ding. Wanting to create a daily photo-based challenge on social media that celebrates the fun side of gin drinking and collecting and, #GinADayMay arrived and will continue to do so every May. All you must do to get involved is with the gin community is follow the daily prompts with your gin cocktail or gin drink during May. A great way to find out about gins and what makes them unique. Spirit of Wales Distillery Welsh Martini
Given that the prompt today is for a Gin Martini, we thought we would start with our Spirit of Wales Distillery, Welsh Martini. A martini all about your preference. The crucial element to success is ensuring your Vermouth is fresh, your gin is of the highest quality, and the garnish is appetising.
Stir in 60ml of the Spirit of Wales Distillery Release Welsh Dry Gin. Add Vermouth to your taste, remember, the more you add, the more herbal it will be. Stir, finding the perfect dilution and garnish. Do not be afraid to finish your masterpiece with something that might seem peculiar either–personally, we take two pickled onions. Use a frozen glass to make it liquid-smooth. James Bond, who?
Spirit of Wales Distillery Elderflower Royale
Looking for something lighter, why not try our Earl Grey infused Spirit of Wales Gin a Day May cocktail? All you need to do is add 50ml Spirit of Wales Distillery Release Welsh Dry Gin, 20ml lemon juice, 10ml of our sugar syrup and a dash of Elderflower Cordial to a shaker. Give it a couple of good shakes and pour over rock ice and then lengthen with soda. Decorate with a sprig of the herb of your choice and serve chilled. If you feel like a true vagabond, replace the soda with sparkling wine to make an Elderflower Royale.
Spirit of Wales Distillery Earl Grey Infused Gin for a real Gin a Day May Experience
If you have some time to spare and are looking for a delightful gin cocktail this Gin a day May, the Spirit of Wales Earl Grey Infused Gin is the way to go. Combine 100ml of the Spirit of Wales Distillery Release Dry Welsh Gin in a clean glass jar, with 3 tablespoons of loose whole leaf Earl Grey Tea.
Cover the mixture, as is with a lid and let it steep for 3 hours. When ready, strain the tea and discard the solids. Pour your Earl Grey infused Welsh Gin over some ice, garnish and enjoy!
